IPS personnel and CSBP operations, maintenance and other support staff completed the delivery of a feasibility study related to the CSBP interest in an ammonium nitrate production facility (ANZ) located at Kwinana, about 35km South of Perth Western Australia. IPS reported directly to the CSBP Project Director responsible for presentation of the Feasibility Study to the CSBP and Wesfarmers Boards.
The feasibility study scope included:-
- detailed review, analysis and comment on the selection of technologies for the production of Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate Solution and Ammonium Nitrate Prill (for use in explosives and fertilisers).
- capital and operating costs for the selected technologies.
- incorporation of necessary data for the financial and marketing business case to support the associated board submissions.
In addition, IPS provided expertise required to negotiate and award contracts for long term lead items of equipment ahead of final project approval.
