The success of the first Hope Downs 1 Stage 2 project comprising the delivery of 1020 tonnes of structural steel and platework led to IPS being awarded the management for the delivery of the remaining 750 tonnes to complete the phase 2 extension for Hope Downs 1 Stage 2 project. IPS met the challenge of the extremely short delivery window of two months for this second stage through the use of proprietary project management processes.
The fabrication of the Screening Buildings, Secondary Crushers, Transfer Stations and Conveyors was conducted on time and on budget. Strict control of the planning, scheduling, reporting, cost control, QA/QC and logistics was key to the successful delivery of the second phase for Rio Tinto.
