Rio Tinto engaged IPS to deliver approximately 2400 tonnes for their Hope Downs Project. This project required offshore sourcing of 1000 tonnes plate work and 1400 tonnes of structural steel.
In order to meet the budget constraints and limited timeframe IPS mobilized a 14 person fabrication and QA/QC team located in a facility situated about 380km S/E of Beijing China.
The management team comprised a QA/QC team of five as well as a document control, Logistics coordinator, Scheduler/Planner and a Project Engineer. The time line was six months and the team successfully completed four shipments on time and within budget.
