Wesfarmers Premier Coal Management appointed IPS as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contractor in association with Wave Engineering for the upgrade to the Coal Handling Plant (CHP) located in Collie region of Western Australia.  IPS managed the project integration with the existing CHP infrastructure and coordinated project activities with normal operations to ensure that production was not interrupted during construction.

 

 IPS successfully managed the brownfield project activities which included the following major works:-

• modification of the existing CHP including the installation of a screen plant which produces a nut coal product;
• erection of a 500 tonne truck loadout bin and associated feed conveyors,
• relocation of an existing sample station and
• installation of a new HV power supply including transformer and MCC building.

The works were completed on time and on budget with no disruption to normal production operations.
