Grant Moffat

Grant2Grant has over 30 years' experience managing major projects in the mining, petroleum and industrial sectors and has worked with all the major players in the industry. As one of the founders of IPS, he has been instrumental in building our reputation as a leader in project management, construction, fabrication and design services in Australia and abroad. In this capacity he has served as the Project Director for a number of high profile resource and industrial projects and oversaw the development of IPS' offshore fabrication activities . As Managing Director of IPS, Grant is heavily involved in all client projects and takes an active role in business development. In addition to running IPS, he is major shareholder in AMC Management Pty Ltd and has been involved in technology development and commercialisation, marketing & joint venture company operations.

Mal Thornton


MalMal has over 30 years' experience managing major construction and development projects in the mining, oil & gas, commercial, chemical and process sectors in every corner of the world. His specialty is delivering outstanding project outcomes in remote locations where demanding technical and logistical conditions create unique challenges. To overcome these types of difficulties, Mal has built a network of relationships with some of the leading manufacturers, contractors, transportation and engineering groups in the world who can deliver under these conditions. Among his other achievements, Mal was the Yilgarn Infrastructure client Project Director following the Yilgarn Oakjee port bid submission and, as the Project Manager for Molly Mines, delivered the Spinifex Ridge Iron Ore Project on budget in 37 weeks.

Dave Turner


DaveDave has over 45 years of experience managing construction projects in Australia and the UK. During his career he has managed virtually every type of building project including homes, churches, schools, commercial high rises, mine sites and industrial plants. In the past 15 years Dave has specialized in construction management at large scale mining, chemical and industrial facilities with long build times and complex technical requirements.
Highlights of Dave's career include the Cockatoo Island Iron Ore project where he spent three years as Mine Manager / Site Manager bringing a decommissioned mine back into production. This assignment included running the mine while the facilities were upgraded and overseeing the loading of iron ore for outbound shipments. More recently Dave was involved in the Moly Mines, Spinifex Ridge project where he was instrumental in bringing the site from greenfields to first production shipment in just 9 months. Dave's experience has given him a strong understanding all aspects of construction management and he is highly skilled at both managing site contractors and reporting to client project teams at a senior level.

Richard Forrester


IMAG0003-001Richard has over 30 years' experience in project management of construction, plant shutdown, and maintenance projects across Australia and overseas. His has worked on major projects in resources, process operations, utilities, rail, wood processing and dairy and has a broad background in industrial production. Richard's experience includes managing the development of crushing plants for the mining industry in South Africa and the construction of a > £ 500m Hot Strip Steel Rolling Mill in the U.K. As a mechanical engineer and MBA, he is able to leverage his technical expertise and well developed business acumen to deliver outstanding results for IPS clients. As a Senior Project Manager at IPS he has been involved in establishing project control procedures and systems for the Dyno Nobel – Project Hadrian ammonium nitrate plant in Port Hedland and conducted capital cost reviews of the project budget. He is recently worked with an IPS client on high profile deliverables for the Wheatstone LNG project where he is deployed IPS project systems to manage multiple ongoing projects.

Vivienne Elder-Smith


VivienneVivienne is a construction professional with an MBA and over 25 years experience managing projects in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors. She has gained broad experience in technical product management, market development and supplier relations in various corporations and manufacturing firms. Highlights of Vivienne's experience include founding her own construction services firm and acting as a Senior Project Manager in the disaster recovery efforts following the New Zealand earthquakes of 2010/2011. In her current role as Project Controls Manager for the Xstrata Zinc Filter Plant Upgrade, she leads Perth and Mt. Isa based teams managing the entire project.

Ricardo Raffa


RicardoRicardo has over ten years' experience in the mining industry in Senior Project Engineer and Senior Project Controls Engineer working on projects in Australia and overseas. In these positions he has been involved in all aspects of project management including planning and scheduling, feasibility studies, project services support activities, contracts, procurement, construction and commissioning. Ricardo has deep understanding of Cost Control methodologies and has been involved in the development of the IPS Cost Control database that is used to keep our client projects on budget.

Mike Brown


MikeMike has thirty five years experience in procurement in the mining, resource and infrastructure construction industry. His experience with contracts management, procurement, expediting, inspection and materials control has been developed on high profile projects across Australia and abroad. Mike has built a strong reputation for delivering long lead and challenging procurement items on time and on budget for the most technically complex projects. He has developed good relationships with all of the major suppliers to the resources and process facility markets to ensure that they get a deep understanding of tender requirements and can deliver exactly what the client requires.

Leonie Gardiner


Leonie Edit 1Leonie is a business professional with an MBA and 18 years of experience in management and administration in the mining, industrial and health care sectors. In her role as a Senior Project Administrator at IPS she has been responsible for the development of Project Execution, Risk and Safety plans for high profile projects in the mining and resources industry. Leonie is also involved in procurement, document control, reporting and manages accounts for each project. In addition to these duties she manages the training programs for all IPS staff to make sure they are up to date on the latest site specific certifications.
Leonie has recently completed relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualifications and in her new role as OHS&E Manager she will advise IPS project teams on health and safety matters as well as managing corporate oversight of this important project discipline.

Simeon Scriven


SimeonSimeon has over 8 years experience in site construction, project and information technology support in a variety of important roles. At IPS he has been heavily involved in mining and resource projects as both a Project and Planning Engineer. While carrying out these roles Simeon has been involved in project management, planning and scheduling, cost estimating and has supervised construction and commissioning of major works. In addition to his direct involvement with IPS clients, Simeon has been instrumental in the development of the web based Integrated Project Delivery System (IPDS) that we use to run all of our major mining, resource and infrastructure projects.


Wesley Davies

Project Manager IPDS


Wesley has over 15 years experience in a variety of business roles both in Australia and overseas. His current roles involve the Project Management of Project Delivery Information Systems and Site Health, Safety and Environment Management.

As Project Manager he is responsible for the IPS development team for the web based Integrated Project Delivery System (IPDS) that is at the heart of our Project Delivery management processes. He is also involved in the setting up and maintaining of business critical hardware and software in both client facing and internal roles.

In a Senior Safety Advisor role Wesley has worked closely with a major client in a FIFO capacity. He was responsible for site work during the construction of the large scale processing facility in Port Hedland was compliant with relevant safety legislation. He advised the client, contractors and IPS staff on the appropriate safety measures during the construction phase.
